This new version of Demon’s Souls is being developed by Bluepoint mahjong ways Games, seemingly without From Software’s collaboration. Even if the remake never gets a PC port, you can at least play the original via emulation, with greatly improved resolution and framerate. That might be the case for any of Sony’s first-party games, but we have ample evidence that From Software’s RPGs are hugely popular. The first Dark Souls alone sold millions of copies on PC, and the series has only gotten bigger since.
Do note that many of these are missable in some way but everything carries over into New Game+. You need multiple playthroughs for platinum anyway so you will have plenty of chances to go for your missing ones. It’s recommended to pick the “Providential Ring” as your starting boon (one of the new rings on PS5). Compared to the original PS3 version there are now 4 more Rings.

The game’s music has been re-recorded and is richly textured and gorgeous. Voice acting has been similarly redone, which changes the mood in certain cases. I loved the contempt of one blacksmith’s dialogue in the original Demon’s Souls, for example, but he now sounds less harsh.
On the left side, you will find another Boletaria Soldier wielding a crossbow. Eliminate him and there is also another lootable body there containing x2 Late Moon Grass. Go up the stairs and once on top of them, turn to your left and keep going until you reach the little wooden bridge. Turn left again, keep going without stopping because an archer will start to shoot you from a roof.
Fans have good reason to expect it as well, as everyone knows Sony’s current software strategy already includes PC ports as a given. Even with the issues the PlayStation 3 had, the smaller budgets from 15 years ago, even when they could balloon, were compensated by the high sales, even on what many gamers considered the worst platform Sony ever ran. Give yourself an early advantage in Demon’s Souls with the most OP starting class. The argument can be made that some of Demon’s Souls’ gritty charm is lost because of the graphical upgrade. Others may also take contention with Bluepoint changing some of the weirder things in Demon’s Souls, like swapping out the bizarre Cat Ring image. But the Demon’s Souls graphical update is such a massive leap forward from the original that many others will find it hard to go back.
